They are made of some sort of fabric but have a sturdy support that allows them to stand on their own. I needed a temporary way to store letter size cardstock and these fit my needs for my studio until I move to the new one.

I ordered the first set to help organize the magazines and items on the stand by the chair my elderly mother spends most time in. They look nice and seem pretty sturdy. I was pleased enough with the first set that I ordered more to use in other places in the house.

I like that if you aren’t using it you can fold it flat to store and it still is sturdy when you use it
